Here's an example of how digital photography apps can seriously enhance the appearance of a house. In this case, I shot three images at different exposures, merged them in High Dynamic Range (HDR) software, did basic tonal adjustments in Aperture, replaced the sky and cloned out some distractions. Then I added a bicolor gradient in Color Efex Pro and changed the perspective in PTLens.
Of course, this is an area that needs to be used carefully. RMLS forbids some of the techniques used here if they are misleading. I would be uncomfortable posting this on an RMLS website since the house next door was deleted. It would give a false impression of it's proximity to the house.
This is an unoccupied $2.1 million house in foreclosure and hasn't been lived in for some time.
